ABOUT RACE TO UNITY

Race To Unity is a ministry network of pastors/church leaders working collaboratively to bring about unity within the Body of Christ.

Our Mission:
To promote unity within the Body of Christ (John 17:21-23);

To identify and remove the known and the discovered articles of division;

To create new vocabulary (dropping some cultural colloquialisms that are divisive).

Expected Results & Long Term Goals:
To dispel the misnomer that we can be both salt and light, without unity;

To have unity take its place within the essentials of full discipleship;

To see all ethnic groups and cultures through Christ’s eye;

To begin long-term multi-ethnic relationships, friendships and associations within the Body of Christ;

To develop a Christian model and manual of working together;

To gain a new understanding of Christ’s call to love one another;

To gain an understanding of the roots and fruits of historical separation among Christians in America;

To identify the common mission and initiate reasons to share in fellowship, service, worship and celebration;

To lead out collaboratively with action steps to bring about changes in both the Church and the community;

To educate through lectures, interactive dialogues, town hall meetings, books, and other media resources.

We Believe...
That it is essential to the health of the Body of Christ, and to world evangelism, that the Body of Christ in America remove the racial divisions that are so obvious to all other nations.

That, under our watch, history can be (and is being) made.

That our actions will dictate to our posterity the plain path of unity to follow.

That our actions will demonstrate to unbelievers that we are followers of Christ: (By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.—John 13:35)

That we are being proactive in fulfilling the Lord’s Prayer, found in John 17:21-23—That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that You sent Me…

That the Church’s unity and good works will be the stimulus to national and world evangelism.
 

NOTE: Race To Unity is NOT a one-stop shop for all of the divisions that exist within the Body of Christ. There are certainly many other very important issues, i.e., denominational, gender, class, etc. that are relevant to the division platform. To these, we offer our support to those believers who are called to these vital works.
